Debbie McGrath
Group Communications Director, Group 4 Securicor plc
Debbie McGrath is Group Communications Director at G4S plc, an international security
solutions group which operates in over 118 countries and employs more that 530,000 staff -
making it the second largest private employer in the world.
Debbie heads up the corporate communications team which focuses on the group's key
audiences - investors, media, government, employees and customers. She has a broad
range of experience in marketing, corporate communications, brand development &
implementation and crisis communications.
G4S plc was formed in 2004 when Securicor and Group 4 Falck merged to create a
leading global security company. Prior to that Debbie was employed in a number
of senior marketing and communications roles within Securicor plc from 1993 to 2004.
Prior to joining Securicor, Debbie has also held marketing positions with ICC Information
Group and Honeywell Bull.

David Murray
Managing Director & Publisher, The Business Magazine
David Murray is a former daily newspaper journalist turned publisher. After working in the UK and for newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong and Australia, David launched The Business Magazine in the Thames Valley in 1993 and it has grown to become the leading business title in the south, with editions covering most of the region, and with up to 90,000 readers monthly.
The Business Magazine is read by company directors and senior executives and has a strong reputation for its news, advice columns and in-depth profiles. Increasingly, as readers turn to the web for their information, the Magazine has grown its online presence and now has more than 200,000 hits per month on www.businessmag.co.uk
David also heads up the growing events side of the business. Deals events are held throughout the region, bringing together the local corporate finance community for gala awards evenings. |

Jonathan Neame
Chief Executive, Shepherd Neame
Jonathan Neame was born on 30th January 1964. He was educated at Harrow, Pembroke College
Cambridge, The City University and Inns of Court School of Law. He achieved 2.1 MA Cantab
Classics; Diploma in Legal Education and is a Barrister at Law.
After qualifying as a Barrister he joined the COBA Group, London specialists in mergers,
acquisition work and due diligence investigations into major capital projects and related
City activity, as a Strategic Consultant.
Jonathan joined Shepherd Neame in 1991 as Company Secretary. In 1994 he became Tenanted
Trade Director and subsequently Trade Director. In 1999 he became Managing Director
and Chief Executive in 2003.
He is also Non-Executive Director of the St. Austell Brewery Co Limited and a Kent Ambassador.
He is married to Lucie and they have one daughter, Violette.

Robert Oxley
Regional Chairman, IoD South
Robert is an experienced Director who runs a Marketing Communications company in Hampton
Court, Surrey and is member of both the Market Research Society and the Institute of
Direct Marketing.
He started his career at British Airways, where he worked in their Advertising Department
during the era of the transatlantic 'fares wars', before joining several major London
Advertising and Direct Marketing Agencies and leading work on a cross-section of blue-chip
B2C accounts.
He founded his own business, which specialises in strategic research and analysis, in
1989, and joined the IoD in order to use the facilities at Pall Mall, the Business
Information Service and to network with fellow Directors. He was the Chairman of the
Buckinghamshire branch from 2001-2005, and prior to his appointment he was a vice-Chairman
of the South Region with responsibility for events and sponsorship.

Alistair Rose
South East Regional Chairman, PricewaterhouseCoopers
Alistair has been an Assurance partner for 17 years and currently has responsibility
for a number of public and private companies as well as large professional partnerships.
He is the South East Regional Chairman and is responsible for the development of PwC’s
practice, across all lines of service, in the seven offices comprising the South East
region in the UK. His role ensures key client relationships are maintained and the
practice achieves its significant business development and growth objectives.
Alistair leads PwC UK’s practice for Professional Services Firms, principally large
law firms, on audit, regulatory and merger work. He is co-author of the firm’s annual
survey on Financial Management in Law Firms. He is the audit partner on one of the
firm’s largest UK law firm clients. He advises a number of law firms on a range of
management issues, including structure and risk management, as well as on financial
accounting.

Patricia Vaz
Until the end of April 2003 when she retired from full time employment, Patricia held the role of Managing Director of UK customer Service for BT, a post she had held since October 1999. She had responsibility for the leadership of 35,000 people working within the Company’s call centres; field service engineering and technical service desks. For the four years prior to 1999 Patricia was Director, UK Business Services encompassing responsibility for Supply Management, Logistics, Fleet management, Building Services and Security.
Patricia started her career with BT in 1975, joining the company as a clerical officer and progressively working her way up the corporate ladder. Her first Directorship appointment was in 1990 when she was given responsibility for transforming the payphone business from a loss making social obligation into a profitable business.
In May 1995 Patricia was awarded the title of Veuve Clicquot UK Business Woman of the Year in recognition of her work with BT Payphones; in June 2002 Patricia was awarded an OBE for 'Services to telecommunications'; and in October 2003 Patricia was recognised by HM The Queen as a Pioneer of the Nation at a reception at Buckingham Palace. |
