Armstrong Craven is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Vickers-Byrne as our new Chief Adviser. As the first in what will be a small team of advisers, Tony will work with us primarily on commercial initiatives to help us develop our multi-channel sales strategy.
Despite the challenging times, the success and resilience of our experts have allowed us to continue our growth. By adding Tony to our team, we’ll be able to reach even more businesses across the world, providing innovative and cost-effective ways to engage with the key people they need.
Peter Howarth, Joint Managing Director, said:
"Having known Tony for several years and across different organisations and roles, the most striking things about him are his enthusiasm, integrity and desire to improve the workplace for everyone. As we help our clients prepare for new ways of engaging with and developing their leadership talent, with value for money becoming an increasingly critical factor in the current climate, I can think of no one more able than Tony to advise us on how best to provide what our senior HR clients really want. "
Tony Vickers-Byrne, Chief Adviser, said:
"I'm delighted to help Armstrong Craven continue to develop and thrive. I really believe its team of diverse experts and innovative business model will be attractive to a wide range of clients across the UK and abroad."
About Tony Vickers-Byrne
With over 25 years’ experience at HR Director level, Tony’s career has already included many highlights such as leading facilities and communications within a major NHS trust, and bringing 5,000 staff from over 100 predecessor organisations together into one government agency.
At Public Health England, Tony pioneered a compassionate management social movement. This was later taken on by Professor Sir Cary Cooper’s National Forum for Health and Wellbeing at Work, allowing Tony to create a ‘Compassion at Work’ toolkit and a ‘Financial Wellbeing’ guide.
From here, he became CIPD’s Chief Adviser for HR practice, travelling across the UK and Europe to ensure all 150,000 CIPD members understood their role in guaranteeing ethical management arrangements within their organisations. Tony continued this work until March 2020, when he retired from full-time employment.
Since joining the Armstrong Craven team in October, he has already provided business insights and advice on marketing and strategic development. His work helps us improve our links with the broader HR leadership community.
